SPINAL ADJUSTMENT/ SPINAL MANIPULATION

An adjustment, or spinal manipulation as it is often referred to is the subtle movement of the vertebrae in the spine. The objective of this movement is to realign specific vertebrae that may have shifted from it's normal position.  This may occur due to a number of reasons ranging from normal daily activity to trauma to the spine or any joint in the body due to a car accident.

When these particular bones are out of place, it can have an overall systemic effect from muscular to the central nervous system. Without proper alignment between nerves and the many systems in the body, we may not function at our peak.

A chiropractic adjustment is pressure being released from the joint. Andrews chiropractic utilizes specific touch with the hands to align the spine back in place. This happens with a quick movement and is pain free. The noise that is heard is referred to as joint cavitation. It is the release of pressure such as oxygen and from the joint.

Chiropractic spinal adjustments or manipulations are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its optimal level. When the body is properly aligned, the body is able to perform at a higher level.
